Your sites, hosted on Cloudflare

Every site runs on Cloudflare's network, with its own database and media and security on from the first day. Every change is staged, checked before it goes live and undone in one step. We watch every site, every minute.

Stage it, promote it, undo it

Every change goes through the same three steps, from a new theme to the spring menu, on one site or all of them at once.

  1. A staged change on Mesa Ledger: the spring menu on a private preview of the site, three theme files and a draft on each of eight sites, with Share link and Promote.

    Stage it

The change lands on a private preview of the real site, with its real content. Share the link and look at it on a phone.

  2. Two promotes. One renders fourteen pages and goes live. In the other /menu does not render, and the last good version is live again six seconds later.

    Promote it

Empress renders your pages after every promote. If one fails, the last good version is back in seconds.

  3. The versions of mesaledger.co, newest first, with Revert on the live one.

    Undo it

The last promote reverts in one step. If something newer is live, Empress tells you instead of overwriting it.

Hosting and security, included

Every site comes with hosting on Cloudflare's network, an SSL certificate, a web application firewall and DDoS protection. There is no separate host to find and nothing to set up.

Mesa Ledger hosted on Cloudflare: an SSL certificate, a web application firewall, DDoS protection, served from the edge and watched by Empress, with a line to run it on your own Cloudflare account instead.

Every site on its own

Each site has its own Worker, its own database and its own media store. One site's data never sits in another's, and each one answers from close to its readers.

Mesa Ledger's own Worker, database, media store and domain, answered from London.

Updates roll themselves

Each EmDash release rolls across your sites one at a time, through the same check as any promote. Nobody updates a site by hand, and no site is left behind.

EmDash 1.5 rolling across eight sites: five done, one checking, two waiting.

Watched every minute

Every site is checked every minute. The status page runs on its own domain, so it stays up when something else is down.

Ninety days of minute checks for four sites, all up.
